Tax Notification (1098-T)
Eligible educational institutions file Form 1098-T for all enrolled students who have reportable transactions. The information below provides more detail about 1098-T 状态ments for Delaware Tech students.
Please be aware that the purpose of the 1098-T is to support any claim for educational credit. The amounts reported are for informational purposes 和 might be different than the amount you actually paid or are deemed to have paid. Instructions for accessing 1098-T information on line:

- Under Student Records, select 1098-T Tax Document

All qualified tuition 和 fee payments received 和 processed on your account between January 1 – December 31, of the previous calendar year, are included in Box 1 of the 1098-T form. Qualified tuition 和 fee payments include:
- Individual cash, check 和 credit card payments
- Payments from 529 和 other investment accounts
- Payments from 3rd parties sponsors such as employers, the VA, or Department of Labor
- 学生贷款
- Grants 和 scholarships
When determining your eligibility for education related tax credits 和 deductions, you will need to report the amount you paid for qualified education 和 related expenses. 你的 Account Detail for Term in the Student Information System is the best 和 most accurate source of information for amounts paid for qualified education 和 related expenses. This is true regardless of whether you receive a Form 1098-T or not.
Payments reported in Box 1 cannot exceed the total qualified charges reported between January 1 – December 31 of the previous calendar year. Payments made for charges that were posted to your account prior to January 1 of the previous calendar year are not included on the 1098-T.
It is important to note that the purpose of the 1098-T is to support any claim for educational credit. The amount reported in Box 1 is for informational purposes 和 might be different than the amount you actually paid or are deemed to have paid. If you feel there is a discrepancy, file your IRS forms with the information you determine to be correct. Utilize the Student Information System to access your Account Detail for Term.
